“The reason a lot of people do not recognize opportunity is because it usually goes around wearing overalls looking like hard work.” -Thomas Edison
Motivation
While at Disneyland with the kids on Wednesday the temperature rose over 100 degrees.  No need to complain because we were at Disneyland after all.  We made sure we were drinking lots of water, finding shade, and going on the well air conditioned rides.  As the hours went on the heat actually became easier to bare.  I have been reflecting on the phenomenon.  Our surroundings effect our mood only if we let it.  If we only think about how hot it is and how miserable we are then yes, you are feeling miserable.  If we take the Disneyland approach and consider the other factors that can and are making us happy then, we are happy.  Yes, it has been hot.  The heat does effect our ability to workout but it doesn’t have to make us miserable.  Be more positive.  Practice being mentally strong.  The evaporative cooler fan that I purchased over a month ago to make sure we were ready for these hot days broke down.  Good timing I know.  We are getting it replaced and the new one should be here today.  Have a great weekend.  Find ways to enjoy the weather.  After all we do live in Southern California.
Strength
Power Clean:  2 EMOM for 10 minutes working up to a 2 rep max
Workout Strategy
Today’s barbell movements are meant to be heavy.  The Burpee challenge is almost over and hopefully when you see Burpees in a workout you are not discouraged but eager to see how well you can do.  The middle portion of this workout will need to be paced.  Keep a steady pace on the burpees because the power cleans should be heavy (but not as heavy as you ended on the strength).  Cardio is generally easier and develops quicker than strength.  On a day like today even I will go down a level to handle the weight.  Strong is strong and we can always get better.  Push yourselves to be awesome.
