On the way to taking Daniel to Basketball practice last Friday I asked him how school went.  He told me how a few of his friends had to stay in class during recess because they didn’t complete a math assignment they were supposed to have done.  His comment was, “It only took five minutes.  They should have done it.”  This started a short conversation which now has turned into our five minute rule.  If it can be done in five minutes why not do it?  I have been trying to help Daniel stay consistent on doing his five sets of 10 squats on the minute for 5 minutes.  I posed the question back to him.  Why not just do them.  It’s only five minutes.  He got a little smirk on his face.  I love the little a hah moments we have with our children that also remind us of what it takes to be better.  It doesn’t take much.  Just five minutes.  Think about how much stronger you would be if you did an extra five minutes of squats, push ups, sit ups, burpees, or whatever.  5 minutes people.  Be awesome.

Do you know how many Burpees you can do in a minute.  Do you know how long it takes you to do 50 Burpees.  These are general number you want to know.  Obviously the time or score will vary slightly day to day but you should have a good idea of your capabilities.  Today you want to go at a steady pace on the first set of 50 so that you are not to winded for the Front Squat.  Burpees are more a mental test than anything.  Stay focused and stay positive.  Stay on pace.[/tab] [/tabcontent] [/tabs]
